To assist the Community Safety Team Manager to co-ordinate the County Council’s contribution to reducing crime and disorder in partnership with other key organisations, both corporately and across the County and to manage the Community Safety Officers within the team.
  • Educated to degree level qualification or equivalent level of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the work of other agencies in the community safety field
  • Knowledge of public-sector decision-making processes
  • Understanding of how to translate legislation and strategy into action
  • The ability to motivate teams and staff setting clear priorities and objectives
  • Achieve service performance objectives and drive improvements through clear, outcome-based assessment, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience of delivering services through working in partnership
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including producing and delivering presentations and reports to a wide range of audiences
  • Experience of working effectively and collaboratively with all key partners in the delivery of services using influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and work on complex work streams and meet deadline
  • Ability to lead, motivate and enthuse others
  • A high level of interpersonal skills
