We are seeking to appoint Lead Art & Design teacher to join and contribute to our highly committed teaching team and be part of a highly successful oversubscribed school which has high aspirations for all students with SEN and Autism. The successful applicant will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with QTS to deliver Art & Design lessons from KS3 through to High Level GCSE.
Maplewell Hall is an expanding special school for students with moderate learning difficulties and Autism aged 11 – 19 years. At present there are 235 students on roll across the whole school, extending to approx. 250 students across 2 sites including MAP  (Maplewell Autism Provision) from the Autumn Term, MAP provides personalised learning for students with high functioning Autism and is designed to support students in reaching their full potential.
Maplewell Hall school is situated in extensive grounds in Charnwood Forest just outside Woodhouse Eaves and our Post 16 site is located on the outskirts of Loughborough.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual who has the ability to apply support strategies where barriers to learning present themselves. You will be able to communicate effectively and have an understanding of the support needs of students within education and the challenges for students making the transition between settings.

  • MPS / UPS scale + SEN 1 depending on experience
