Do you want to be part of an exciting new send unit for pupils with communication and interaction, namely autism?
We are seeking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant x 3
    
Salary Details: Grade 6 (£14,395 actual)
Contract Type: Term-time and permanent
Start date: 20th April 2020 (or as soon as possible after this date)
Working Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm term time plus 5 INSET days per year
Qualification: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

As part of Leicestershire County Council’s commitment to create school places for children with SEND, Thorpe Acre Junior School will be opening a new 10 place provision on the school campus for children with communication and interaction needs, namely autism.
  
The governors are looking to appoint, in the first instance, 3 SEND teaching assistants to be based in the unit next to the mainstream school. This will rise to 5 SEND teaching assistants as the unit fills with pupils.
    
The unit is due to open in September 2020, however these posts will be available from 20th April to provide the successful candidates with the opportunity to work with SEND pupils in the mainstream school and become familiar with the school’s ethos, vision, policy and practice prior to the new unit opening.
