JOB PURPOSE: 
    
This is a role within Children and Families Wellbeing Service Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT) To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality, brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties;
     
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relevant level 3 qualification plus experience that clearly demonstrates the skills competencies and knowledge outlined below.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Psychological Wellbeing Practice (Children & Young People) or Undergraduate Certificate in Psychological Wellbeing Practice (Children & Young People) Other relevant postgraduate degree Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, counselling or specific psychological therapy.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development and the role of the family in Supporting children and young people’s emotional well-being.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of the importance of using evidence-based interventions.
  • Knowledge of the issues relating to children and young people and the impact it can have upon mental health. 
  • Knowledge of the regard for others and respect for individual rights autonomy and confidentiality. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • An ability to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Able to manage own caseload and time.
  • An ability to integrate training into practice
  • Computer literate.
  • An ability to be self-reflective in personal and professional development and in supervision
  • Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships
  • An ability to work under pressure
  • To be able to travel to venues throughout the County using own transport
  • Ability to use supervision and personal development positively and effectively
