Salary Range: £31,464 - £33,972 (Grade 11). - Fixed Term (maternity cover)
 
The Employee Wellbeing Service of Leicestershire County Council and Leicestershire Traded Services are seeking a full time qualified counsellor on a fixed term basis for 9 months, to provide counselling and wellbeing support to employees.  
 
This exciting opportunity will provide counsellors with a wealth of experience in supporting clients over an extensive range of work related and personal issues. Applicants should feel confident in dealing with cases of stress, anxiety, depression and trauma. 
 
Applicants will be expected to hold a Diploma in Counselling or an equivalent qualification; they will also be eligible for BACP or UKCP accreditation. The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own caseload of initial assessments and counselling sessions, within a busy and fast paced working environment.  Confidentiality is an important aspect of this role, the candidate will be expected to understand and demonstrate the boundaries in regard to confidentiality.
 
The candidate will also contribute to other team activities, such as developing service information, compiling service statistics, assisting with the organisation and development of wellbeing programmes and training employees in stress management. 
 
Knowledge of service delivery within a local authority setting is desirable. This is a great opportunity for counsellors to develop their portfolio and broaden their skill set.  Supervision will be paid for and counsellors may choose a suitably qualified supervisor.  
 
The successful applicant will receive a high level of support from the team of three Wellbeing Advisors and will be managed by the Corporate Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager. The Wellbeing Advisor will share an open plan office with the wider Health, Safety & Wellbeing team making it an enjoyable and supportive place to work.
