Salary Range: £27,936 - £31,377 
The role of a Transport Analyst will be to carry out, organise and manage the planning, supervision and analysis of traffic and transport surveys, provision of data services to outside bodies. This is to maintain data systems for transport planning, intelligence, modelling LTP/SEP performance monitoring and other purposes in accordance with the Department's new Commissioning Principles and Target Operating Model (TOM).
  • BTEC High/NVQ Level 4 in a numerate subject or equivalent in a relevant discipline plus experience in Data Collection or statistical analysis with excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience in extracting and analysing large data sets and working with big data to produce insights.
  • use of databases and spreadsheets for monitoring work progress, storing data and data manipulation.
  • Experience in managing resources (both equipment and personnel) efficiently to meet the needs of the department.
  • Experience in interpreting data and writing technical and non-technical report and providing technical advice.
  • Knowledge of GIS systems to analyse and present complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, planning and presentation skills.
  • The ability to supervise others performance and workloads to allocate work.
  • Experience in working on multiple projects to tight timescales and to agreed targets.
  • The ability to build positive relationships across stakeholders, peers and partners creating open and transparent relationships based on trust.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills to assess transport data and trends including flows and speeds.
  • A customer focused approach where the customer experience is central to the delivery of service.
  • Able to travel to various locations around the City.
