ESPO are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Trainee Procurement Officer scheme, working within teams of procurement professionals to help procure a large range of goods and services for ESPO’s public sector customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for Categories including, Building & FM, Environment & Waste, Food & Catering, Health & Social Care, Highways & Vehicles, HR & Professional Services, and ICT. Tasks and duties include analysing market data, managing suppliers and supply chains, engaging with customers, preparing tender documentation, evaluating bids and quotes and awarding contracts. The successful candidate will be sponsored to study for the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply qualification and will be provided with day release and financial support to achieve this qualification.
            
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Degree in Business studies/ economics/ or relevant discipline
• Ability to communicate with customers, suppliers and colleagues via email, in writing and at meetings
• Strong analytical and numerical skills and a strong attention to detail
• Manages time effectively to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and willingness to learn any in-house systems
