Salary Range £32,094 - £34,653 (Trading Standards Officer) £35,727 - £39,405 (Senior Trading Standards Officer)
We are looking to recruit two motivated and forward thinking officers to join our highly regarded Service which has an intelligence-led approach embedded in all areas of its work. Our aim is to support our businesses to compete fairly whilst at the same time protecting our communities by robustly tackling rogue traders.
You will be a highly motivated team player working on your own initiative, with excellent communication skills and have a proven track record of recent investigation and enforcement experience. In addition you will have the ability to take account of local factors and have a proactive and proportionate approach to regulation..

Candidates should have comprehensive knowledge of the legislation which is enforced or used by the Trading Standards Service and of the extensive legal requirements pertaining to the conduct of investigations. Ideal candidates should hold the Diploma in Trading Standards, DCATS plus 20 Service Delivery Module points or the DCA and either 2 additional DCA papers or 20 additional points under the TSQF. A full driving licence is also essential.
Progression to STSO is achieved through the demonstration of significant post-qualification experience as a Trading Standards Officer and evidence of leadership and professional ability.
