Salary Details: Grade 8 – (Salary £20,727 - £22,658pa)
The post being advertised is within the Purchasing and Stores Team which supports the Highway’s Delivery Group operation by coordinating the procurement and delivery of the materials and plant required to fulfil the works areas as described above.
The two primary objectives of the Purchasing and Stores Team are to work with suppliers in ensuring that Materials are delivered to the right quality, quantity, place, time and price as well practicing high levels of compliance with The Public Contract Regulations 2015.
The work environment can be high paced at busy periods and as a result relies on people who operate well within a small team and are able to focus on moving tasks through to completion whilst offering a high level of customer service at the same time.  
An individual coming in to this role can expect to gain experience of the commercial aspect of a Highways Delivery operation which includes purchasing, public sector procurement, contract management, logistics, finance, health and safety and elements of civil engineering.
