One of the biggest challenges facing Children and Family Services is meeting the demand for SEND places. This post will play an essential role in forecasting and tracking the requirement for places to ensure a high level of provision is put in the right areas to meet the highest demand.
 
The School Organisation Service is a small, friendly and supportive team dealing with a variety of interesting work.
 
JOB PURPOSE
  • To discharge the statutory duty of the Local Authority to secure sufficient high-quality school places, particularly for SEND pupils.
  • To act as an advisor in relation to SEND school capacity and organisation matters.
  • To assist others in the general planning of pupil places for 4 – 19 year olds in Leicestershire, by the research, collation, analysis and reporting of a variety of information/ data to include demographic data, housing projections and place availability data
  • To assist in the establishment of new provisions including running of competitions for the establishment of new schools
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • NVQ Level 3 or BTEC national and post qualification experience in related work OR demonstrable experience, identified within the sections below 
  • A number of years related experience e.g. business analytical demographics, statistics, interpretation of plans/drawings and formulating databases, Extensive use of spread sheets and presentation of data
  • Experience of Research and analytical skills for information gathering and statistics
  • Ability to plan and organise work
  • Experience of working to strict timescales and meeting deadlines 
  • Ability to research, analysis and interpret complex data
  • Ability to work on own initiative
