Technical Assistant - People Services (18.5 hours Wednesday-Friday)
Salary range: £19,173 - £19,554 pro rata (based upon 19/20 FY)
       

This is a great opportunity to join our HR Strategy and OD team where you’ll be part of a small but dedicated team that supports delivery of HR compliance within the council. 
  
You will work alongside the HR Data Manager to prepare responses to Freedom of Information requests, prepare information for internal and external reports and with our shared service provider ensure compliance with pre-employment checks.
   
You’ll be confident in using Microsoft Word and Excel, and able to process, manipulate and validate data via manual and electronic processes and then produce and present data for reporting purposes. You should have strong attention to detail and be able to deliver to high standards.
       
Key responsibilities:
• Assist with answering and administrating Freedom of Information requests
• Assist in the preparation of reports, performance scorecards and other documentation
• Maintain and operate manual and computerised systems, databases and records to produce output reports as appropriate to the needs of the service
• Obtain information from managers to ensure records are accurate and update the database accordingly
• Provide support in completing the necessary recruitment checks e.g. right to work documentation, DBS re-checks, fixed term contracts etc
    
The ideal candidate:
• Have experience of using Microsoft Office Excel in order to manipulate data and Word
• Able to process, manipulate and validate data via manual and electronic processes
• Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, databases, word processing and the internet
• Produce and present data for reporting purposes
• Ability to work accurately, methodically with attention to detail
• Awareness of Freedom of Information legislation, recruitment checks and GDPR
• Interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written to respond to requests for information
