Salary range: £40,701 - £44,964 + Market Premium of £3,000 payable
 
JOB PURPOSE:
• To champion improved outcomes for children and young people in Leicestershire
• To ensure that children and families receive high-quality, coordinated services which meet their needs and keep children safe
• To work with partner agencies in a coordinated and integrated approach wherever possible to achieve good outcomes for children and families
• To take the lead in embedding the Departmental practice framework underpinned by the signs of safety methodology to support the delivery of high-quality social work practice  
     
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant degree or equivalent
• Professional Social Work Qualification
• Evidence of continued learning and development
• Professional Body Membership
• Substantial post qualifying experience of working with children and families
• Experience of statutory childcare work, including safeguarding, child protection and court processes
• Experience of supervising staff and social work students
• Full understanding and strong record of practicing using signs of safety methodology or commitment to further development
• Knowledge of relevant guidance and regulations including the Children Act 1989, Working Together 2015 and the Children and Social Work Act 2017
• Knowledge of current policy and the signs of safety methodology
• Knowledge of social work practice
• To have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to motivate staff and partners to work together effectively for change
• Able to deliver results with tight deadlines
• To have excellent presentation skills
• To be able to collect analyse and interpret performance and statistical data
• An understanding of and commitment to Equal opportunities and the ability to apply this in all situations
• Willing to work duty systems and to work outside normal hours as and when required
