We are seeking to appoint a full-time Teacher of History at Hamilton Academy. The ideal candidate will be someone who is highly committed to our students and their success and will show understanding of the curriculum. They will play an active role in the department supporting the continued development of the quality of teaching at Hamilton Academy. We are looking for someone who will show flexibility, reliability and have excellent organisational skills as well as the ability to motivate others and lead by example.
We aim to achieve a History department where:
• Students develop a joy of learning History and study at GCSE level.
• Students are inspired to go on to study languages at A Level.
• The professional learning of teachers and development of their subject knowledge is a priority.
• Resources are tailor-made to ensure students of all abilities make progress and have a real sense of achievement after every lesson.
The ideal candidate will:
• Be an excellent History practitioner.
• Be passionate about developing their own practice and the teaching and learning practice of others.
• Have a keen interest in History and in developing all aspects of History teaching and learning.
• Have the ability to engage and inspire pupils and build excellent relationships with both students and staff.
