Part time/Relief School Swimming Teachers 
Applications are invited from qualified Level 2 Swimming Instructors within a number of city leisure centres including: Clifton, Djanogly, Harvey Hadden Sports Village, John Carroll, Ken Martin, Southglade, Victoria and Portland.

The successful candidates will join a large and dedicated team who support schools in the city to deliver the National Curriculum outcomes and aquatic activities to children and young people.  Nottingham City Council offers competitive rates of pay starting at £12.29 per hour and rising to £12.80 on the first year and subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.  Please ensure you read our terms and conditions which include advice on pay, annual leave and hours of working.

Duties will include teaching a spectrum of ages and abilities, assessing attainments and ensuring the safe supervision of the swimming pool during lessons with associated first aid. As a Swimming Teacher you will be responsible for producing appropriate session plans, schemes of work and ensuring lessons are fun, progressive and motivating to meet the level being taught.

  • Level 2 in Teaching Aquatics
  • To complete a rescue award, either an NPLQ Pool Lifeguard qualification or NRASTAC National Rescue Award for Teachers (to be completed within three months of employment)
  • Experience of organising, leading and promoting sports activities
