Starting salary is £23,281 rising to £24,557 on first year anniversary (This is a base rate of £17,772 pro rata rising to £18,746 pro rata on first year anniversary plus a market supplement of 31% reviewed annually), subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.

Nottingham City Council is looking to recruit qualified Swimming Instructors (Level 2) to join their large Nottingham Swim School programme that is delivered from seven City Council Pools. The hours available vary across the leisure centres. Nottingham Swim School mainly takes place Monday - Friday 4pm-7pm and weekends 8am-1pm. There may be opportunity to also become involved in other swim projects with additional hours available. The successful applicants will join teams of swimming instructors working across the City in our state of the art facilities. Nottingham City Council offers highly competitive rates of pay starting at £12.07 per hour and rising to £12.73 on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period. There are also many other benefits such as free access to additional swim CPD training and discounted gym membership.The candidate will be responsible for producing appropriate session plans ensuring lessons are progressive, inclusive, fun and motivating and meet the needs and level of the group being taught.   The candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality swimming lessons to a wide range of ages and ability levels following the Swim England Learn to swim framework and awards scheme. The candidate will also be assessing participant’s ability at each lesson and marking them against the set criteria for that class type. Swimming Instructors are also responsible for supervising assistant swimming instructors that support their lessons.
   
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
-Level 2 ASA Swim Teachers Qualification (or equivalent)
-Hold a lifeguard qualification or National Rescue test award (or be willing to obtain within 3 months of employment)
-Experience of organising, promoting and leading sporting activities
