Young man in Moira is looking for a support worker to assist him on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday afternoon for 5 hours (from around 12/12.30 pm). It is essential that you can work additional hours to cover for existing support worker at times of holiday and sickness.
   
The purpose of the role is to enable the gentleman to increase his independence as part of his reablement. To assist him with preparing his evening meal and domestic chores around the home. To socialise on a regular basis in a safe and secure manner. Ideally you will have similar interests – enjoy watching/discussing various sports such as football/boxing, visiting public houses. Assist with accessing toilet facilities when out and about if necessary. Access to a vehicle is essential along with a clean/current driving licence.
  
Experience of working within the care industry is desirable, along with an awareness of the difficulties faced by someone with a visual impairment and acquired brain injury. Discretion and recognising the need for confidentiality is vital as you will be out socialising with other members of the public.
