Nottingham City Council has recently approved a pay award for this financial year. Therefore the starting salary is £33,782 with market supplement rising to £35, 745 on first year anniversary, subject to completion of a probation period

The aim of Nottingham City Council Fostering Team is to support Foster Carers to  meet the needs  of young people in care, by enabling young people to be fully supported into their transition into adulthood.  The Fostering Team consists of the equivalent of ten full time Social Workers, a Senior Practitioner and Two Fostering Team Managers.
We are looking for experienced professionals who are capable of working under pressure and dealing with a demanding workload in sometimes stressful situations. As a Fostering Social worker will need to have the  ability to Assess Risks, and the needs of children and families and experience in implementing therapeutic interventions. You will be IT literate and will maintain your own Case Files, and should be conversant with working with Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel and Nottingham City Councils secure IT system Liquid Logic.
The ideal candidate is expected to have high Safeguarding Awareness, Knowledge and Experience. Further, you are expected to have in depth knowledge of policies and procedures concerning Child Protection.
  • Social Work Qualification and registered with the Social Care England
  • Extensive knowledge and experience as a social work practitioner which demonstrates ability to act as a professional lead in a specialist area
  • To understand how to offer effective supervisory support to foster carers, adopters pre and post adoption in complex cases    
  • Ability to manage allegations and serious concerns about foster carers and adopters practice and standards of care
