Leicestershire County Council’s in-house Legal Services has an exciting opportunity for 2 Contracts specialists to join its friendly, supportive and experienced Contracts, Procurement and Commercial Team based at County Hall, Glenfield.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience working in local government or in private practice advising on a range of commercial contracts (including construction contracts) and procurement matters.
Eligible candidates should have qualified as a solicitor, barrister or legal executive and possess relevant experience in contract law and a good knowledge of procurement law.
 
Duties include:
  • Dealing with the negotiation, drafting preparation, finalisation and revision of a wide variety of contract documents.
  • Advising upon a range of contract, commercial and procurement related non-contentious issues. 
  • Giving internal advice to client departments on legislation relating to commercialisation of services provided by Leicestershire County Council.
  • Advising on governance issues related to contracts, commercial and procurement matters including reports to Elected Members.
