This role provides a unique opportunity to join the award winning Energy Services at Nottingham City Council and support our ambition to become a carbon neutral city by 2028. We are looking for a junior software developer to join our EEMonitor team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing service area and contribute to the continued success of our smart prepayment system.
The post holder will contribute to the development of Energy Services smart heat prepayment system and the related communication network infrastructure. We are looking for a junior IT developer with a working knowledge of Microsoft Azure to support and manage the pre-payment cloud system. There will also be an opportunity to participate in developing applications across the service area when required. The candidate must be fully conversant in C#, ASP.NET MVC and SQL and must be able to understand database architecture. A range of support will be provided to help you in your personal development.   
The post holder will be an integral part of the EEMonitor team and will be expected to control, manage and develop our IT systems in accordance with agreed procedures. Please see attached information sheet for additional information about this role.

• Strong knowledge and experience of C#, SQL, and database design.
• Knowledge and experience of building web applications using ASP.NET MVC with C#, scripting with HTML, JavaScript/JQuery, CSS, JSON and XML.
• Creativity and experience of finding innovative and novel solutions to complex problems.
• Experience of designing and maintaining public APIs and Web Services.
• To keep up to date with relevant changes in practice, technology and legislation with the ability to acquire new IT skills to improve service delivery.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and prioritise own workload aligned to the evolving demands of the business.
