We Currently have the following Social Worker vacancies available:

* Part-time (18.5hrs p/w) within our Bassett Street Office in the locality of Wigston Salary -£24,801-£32,094 (Pro rata)
* Full-time (37hrs p/w) Level 2 and above within our First Response team at County Hall Glenfield Salary -£27,936-£36,653
* Full-time ( 37hrs p/w) Social work post with our Locality Teams in South Leicestershire Salary- £24,801-£36,653


Leicestershire's First Response Service, Based at County Hall are responsible for completing section 47 enquiries and single assessments for incoming cases to Children's Services. Our locality teams work with children who are subject to child in need plans, child protection plans and are currently going through care proceedings. Our children in care services works with children on a long-term basis who's care plan is long-term care. In Leicestershire we are focused on developing excellent practice though the use of signs of safety and you will be led by experienced managers within stable teams.

• To deliver high quality services and contribute to the development of the service for vulnerable children and their families including:
• The delivery of a high-quality duty response service
• The formulation of risk assessment within referral and assessment processes
• The delivery of safeguarding services in accordance with legal requirements and departmental policies and procedures
• Social Work qualification
• HCPC registration
• Experience of statutory child social work, Including safeguarding child protection and care proceedings
• Knowledge of child care legislation and LSCB procedures particularly in relation to child protection
• Awareness of the cultural, racial linguistic and religious background of children, young people and families
• Ability to undertake assessments to a high standard
• Ability to communicate clearly (demonstrating the use of communication/engagement tools) with children/young people, parents/carers colleagues and other professionals
• Ability to travel to service points within Leicestershire County Council in a cost-effective way
• Possession of a valid driving license and access to a vehicle
• Must be able to perform all duties and task with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate in accordance with the provisions of Equality Act 2010
