• To develop and manage the work of the ASYE staff within the Children in Care service

• To establish and develop a 16+ LAC service
• To champion improved outcomes for children and young people in Leicestershire as part of the operational management structure of children's social care
• To ensure that children and families receive high quality, co-ordinated services which meet their needs and keep children safe
• To work with partner agencies in a co-ordinated and integrated approach wherever possible to achieve good outcomes for children and families
• To take a lead in embedding the departmental practice framework underpinned by the Signs of Safety Methodology to support the delivery of high-quality social work practice
• To provide management accountability to front line social work services

• Relevant Degree or equivalent
• Professional Social Work qualification
• Evidence of continued learning and development
• Professional Body Membership
• Post qualifying experience of working with children and families
• Experience of statutory childcare work including safeguarding, child protection and court processes
• Experience of supervising staff or Social Work students
• Full understanding and strong record of practicing using the Signs of Safety Methodology or commitment to further development
• Knowledge of relevant guidance and regulations including the Children Act 1989, Working Together 2015, Children and Social Work Act 2017
• Knowledge of the principles of staff supervision continuing professional development and performance management
• Knowledge of what excellent social work practice looks like
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• To analyse information to reach sound decisions, often under pressure and to take responsibility for their outcome and regular reporting to the Service Manager
• To manage resources and budgets effectively and efficiently
• Motivate staff and partners to work together effectively for change
• Deliver results to tight deadlines
• To have all round good IT skills
• Excellent presentation skills - written and oral
• Ability to apply quality standards in performance management to improve staff performance and outcomes for children
• An understanding of, and commitment to Equal Opportunities and the ability to apply this in all situations
• Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
• Willing to work duty systems and to work outside normal hours as and when required
• Ability to drive around the country
