MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To carry out, organise and manage the planning, supervision and analysis of traffic and transport surveys, provision of data services to outside bodies; and to maintain data systems for transport planning, intelligence, modelling, LTP/SEP performance monitoring and other purposes in accordance with the Department's new Commissioning principles and target operating model (TOM).
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • BTEC Higher/NVQ Level 4 in a numerate subject or Equivalent in a relevant discipline plus experience in Data Collection or statistical analysis with excellent numeracy and literacy skills plus relevant experience as in the Skills & Competencies on the Job Description.
  • The extraction and analysis of large data sets, working with big data to produce insights.
  • Use of databases and spreadsheets for monitoring work progress, storing data and data manipulation.
  • Managing resources (both equipment and personnel) efficiently to meet the needs of the department.
  • Interpreting and writing technical and non-technical reports and providing technical advice.
  • Use of GIS systems to analyse and present complex datasets.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, planning and presentation skills.
  • The ability to supervise others performance and workloads and to allocate work.
  • To work on multiple projects, to tight timescales and to agreed targets.
  • Building positive relationships across stakeholders, peers and partners, creating open and transparent relationships based on trust.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills to asses transport data and trends including flows and speeds.
  • A customer focussed approach where the customer experience is central to the delivery of the service
  • Able to travel to various locations around the County.
