Salary Range: £35,727 - £39,405 plus market premium of £2,250 valid until 31.12.2020


To be responsible for carrying out all the duties of the job in accordance with the County Council's Opportunities Policy.
  • CQSW/DipSW/CSS (Management or childcare)
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Relevant post training
  • Substantial post qualification in child care or fostering services
  • Experience of chairing decision-making meetings
  • Experience of communicating effectively with children and their carers and of facilitating the participation of children and young people in service planning
  • Experience of working with foster carers
  • Experience of working with service users from diverse cultural and ethnic background
  • Detailed knowledge of foster care legislation and regulation
  • Knowledge of the role of foster carers in a quality service for looked after children
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and the development and promotion of good practice standards
  • Understanding of the requirements of a high-quality fostering service that is safe and that promotes the needs of children in care
  • Ability to analyse information, identify key issues and communicate both orally and in writing, so as to be understood by both children and adults
  • Ability to give constructive feedback to carers and practitioners and others
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to understand management information systems and to work with computers
  • Ability to produce written reports of a high standard within an agreed timetable
  • Ability to be self motivated
  • Ability to drive a car and hold a full driving license
  • A willingness to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and to work outside office hours when required
