The starting salary is £21,074 (level 1) rising to £22,401 (level 2) on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time).
 
The role is 37 hrs per week  (1st April to 31st October), reducing to 15 hrs per week (1st November to 31st March): 0.75 FTE. There may be extra hours available in response to business need.

Nottingham City Council's Adventure Team plans and delivers a wide range of educational and enriching outdoor and adventurous activities for schools, public and private sector customers. These activities include residential camps, adventurous activity days and sessions at a number of other locations across Nottingham. Our team and customers benefit from the fantastic facilities at Colwick Park Adventure Centre and The Arches Adventure Base, such as our 42ft high ropes course, watersports lake, archery range, abseil tower and country park setting. The post holder will work across all of these locations on a flexible basis.
 
The post holder will supervise the safe and effective staffing of the Adventure Team's delivery, ensuring that the Team's staff resource is effectively developed and deployed.  The post holder will work in partnership with the Senior Instructor (Facilities) and School Project Officer, under the direction of the Outdoor Activities Service Manager, to plan and deliver high quality, value for money outdoor and adventurous activities.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Minimum of 2 x relevant NGB Awards (See Person Specification for list), one of which MUST be either BCU Level 2 Coach and /or Senior Sailing Instructor. These should be current and valid.
  • Proven successful experience of supervising staff or volunteers.
  • Knowledge and experience of supervising safety and quality in outdoor and adventurous activity delivery.
