Applicants must be professionally qualified and registered with the HCPC and have at least 2 years’ experience working as an Educational Psychologist

Leicestershire EPS is a high quality and growing service. We are seeking Senior Educational Psychologists who wish to broaden their experience or Educational Psychologists who want to take the next step in their career, with opportunities to increase the variety of your work, lead service developments and work collaboratively with settings, schools & colleges, as well as families and other education, health and care services at a strategic level.

We would also be interested to hear from any qualified EPs with management experience who could help us out over the next few months on a short-term Interim Senior EP contract to support with supervision and other duties. Please contact the PEP on the number below for further discussion.

We are a friendly team of Educational Psychologists with a good balance of experienced and newly qualified EPs. As a Senior EP you will manage one of two virtual but co-located teams covering North or South Leicestershire.

We use an allocation system for statutory work that supports EPs to manage their workload, as well as provide as much consistency for children, young people and schools as possible.

We are a partially traded service and are well regarded, with demand for our commissioned work

growing year on year, which currently includes:

  • Service level agreements with individual schools, academies and multi-academy trusts
  • Specialist commissioned work with services such as Leicestershire Virtual School
  • Consultation as an approach, along with locality-based multi-agency forums to build capacity in schools and early years settings.
  • Training and capacity-building work, including ELSA, Supporting Schools with Staff Resilience and Wellbeing and other training developed by our Educational Psychologists.

We aim to apply psychology creatively and collaboratively to empower and inspire others to promote inclusion and learning, wellbeing, and positive futures for all. As our service continues to grow, so too do opportunities to engage in other work to support inclusion in Leicestershire. Now is an exciting time to join our service!

We are committed to supporting the development of the profession and enjoy strong links to the training programmes with opportunities to supervise Trainee EPs. Leicestershire EPs have access to whole-service, peer group and individual CPD opportunities as well as individual supervision arrangements.

We have good access to effective Business Support. Flexible working is encouraged, and EPs have access to home working and local ‘touchdown’ bases across the county to reduce travel time. We place a high value on EPs having a good work life balance.

Given the current Covid 19 restrictions, interviews will take place by video via Skype/ Microsoft Teams.

Informal enquiries are welcome. Please telephone to speak with Chris Atkinson, Principal Educational Psychologist 0116 305 5100 or via email on chris.atkinson@leics.gov.uk
