To support the Principal EP in maintaining and developing an effective and efficient Educational Psychology Service contributing to:
• Leadership of the service
• Professional management of a local team
• Collaboration with partners to develop and implement strategy                     
• Setting high professional standards, contributing to planning and development, leading on monitoring and evaluation of impact and advising and contributing to Local Authority strategic development and policy implementation
• To lead and manage a locality-based team of EP'S responding to the needs and agendas of Locality partners 
• Good honors degree in Psychology or equivalent recognised by the British Psychological requirements for graduate basis for registration
• Nationally recognised qualification in educational psychology
• Successful work as an educational psychologist for a period of at least two years
• Use of monitoring and performance management
• Experience of activity over and above that of the normal duties of an educational psychologist
• Experience of promoting the inclusion of children
• Understanding of the implications and desirability of inclusion education
• Theory and practice of management
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and national guidance and policy (including local implementation and practice)
• Evidence of successful training and disseminating information
• Sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity and the confidence to challenge racism and bullying
• Ability to travel around the county
• Tenacious, self-motivated and good at motivating others
• Responding flexibly to changing demands
• Dependable and able to meet deadlines
• Appropriate and successful inter-personal skills
• To have a flexible approach to working including out-of-hours and an ability and willingness to travel various locations
• An understanding of and commitment to Equal opportunities and the ability to apply this to strategic work and day-to-day situations
