JOB PURPOSE:
To process a range of applications in relation to the admission of school places.
To advise clients in accordance with national and local legislation/policies.
To work with a range of internal and external agencies to ensure children receive education.
To assist Senior Officers in gathering information for school appeals.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Education to GCSE 'C' of equivalent including English and Maths OR equivalent NVQ level in administration or relevant experience in a customer facing environment in accordance with 1-4 below
  • Experience of liaising with customers/clients using a variety of methods
  • Demonstrating excellent customer care
  • Working in a customer facing environment or people orientated role
  • Experience of accurately capturing, storing and retrieving information to meet organisational and customer needs
  • Ability to interpret information and data
  • Ability to present accurate information clearly, both written and orally
  • Ability to communicate positively both orally and in writing, including a good telephone manner
  • Evidence of working with computer systems to input, store and retrieve data
  • Ability to respond flexibly to changing demands
  • Evidence of good organisational skills
  • Knowledge and experience of administrative processes and systems
  • Evidence of understanding and appreciation of confidentiality and security
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and local policy related to this post
  • An understanding of, and commitment to Equal Opportunities, and the ability to apply this to all situations
  • Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
  • Evidence of a good attendance record
  • Self-motivated, able to work under own initiative
