Salary Range: £27,936 - £31,377
Job Purpose:
To assist in providing comprehensive and professional delivery of the Local Authority's statutory duties pertaining to statutory assessment and review of children and young people with Special Educational needs and disabilities.
To carry out routine casework in relation to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in accordance with the LA's statutory responsibilities including Education, Health and Care Needs, Assessments and review of Education Health and care Plans, (EHC Plans), and to represent  the authority in SENDIST appeals and at mediation


• NVQ level 4 qualification in relevant subject OR demonstrable experience identified within the section below
• Recent and relevant experience in a Special Educational Needs context
• Demonstrated knowledge of the concepts and implications of special educational needs
• Evidence of ability to extract relevant information from a range of data/variety of sources and to present it in different formats as appropriate
• Commitment to the County Council's Equal Opportunities Policy
• High level of numeracy, literacy and oral skills
• Ability to present information in clear written form for a variety of audiences
• Ability to respond flexibly to changing demands
• Ability to work in partnership with parents and staff from other agencies
• Dependable and able to meet deadlines, when under pressure
• Highly motivated, flexible and able to use initiative
• Ability to inspire confidence in public and colleagues
• Contributes to training events as appropriate
• Be committed to providing high quality public service
• Be responsible for work given to the Casework teams e.g. ensuring deadlines met, checking quality of work
• To be able to work on own initiative and as part of Team
• Working knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice

• Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
• To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with the Department's agreed Records Management Retention and Data Quality Guidance
• Must be able to regularly travel to various locations in the County and sometimes out of the County
