SEN Learning Support Assistant
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract for 1 Year initially
Working Hours: 24.25 hours per week
Salary Details: Grade 5 - £9.81 per hour – pay award pending
Start date: 12th April 2021
We have a vacancy for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with several pupils that have either an EHCP or High Needs Funding. Previous SEN experience, ideally in autism or communication and interaction needs, is desirable but not essential.
The post is part time, working 8.45am to 3.00pm each day (8.45am to 12noon on Fridays) during term time only, although some flexibility to support school events and the current staggered Covid arrangements will be required.
The post holder will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo to support specific pupils in their learning.
We are looking for someone who can be flexible and adaptable, works well in team situations but can also be independent. The ideal candidate will have a sense of fun and an optimistic outlook and can engage with all of our pupils.
Ashby Willesley Primary school is a ‘Good School’ with 420 pupils on roll. We pride ourselves in a friendly and welcoming environment where children learn through high quality lessons and imaginative and creative teaching. The behaviour for learning in school is outstanding and this, coupled with great support from parents, ensures that pupils make good progress during their education here. The school is well resourced, and there is a good level of support staff in lessons, to promote learning in all of our pupils. Our school enjoys a low turnover of staff due to the happy working environment and appreciation and development of individuals’ skills and passions.
The school is fully committed to safeguarding and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check will be required.
