  • To undertake all victim contact work in line with National Standards principles and relevant legislation
  • To provide a service to victim's in line with principle of restorative justice
  • To develop operational delivery around Restorative Approaches
  • To develop interventions for child victims engaged with Youth Justice
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in relevant subject, plus significant relevant experience that demonstrates skills, knowledge and competencies outlined below
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to job role
  • Significant experience of working with victims of crime, preferably youth crime
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency setting
  • Experience of partnership working
  • Experience of project management in a similar setting
  • Experience of delivering training
  • Knowledge of issues relating to victims
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to victims
  • Knowledge of restorative approaches
  • Knowledge of relevant behavioural change practice to bring about change in anti-social behaviour and offending behaviour
  • A good understanding of how to manage risk in the community and an understanding of commitment to risk policies and procedures
  • Understanding of the impact of crime and the responding to needs / protection of victims
  • Ability to work as part of a team and in a multi-agency context, including the ability to operate in a variety of different settings with both clients and professionals including custody, community centres and home environments
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including presenting information to professional partners, good recording, administrative and report writing skills
  • Good project management skills including organisational, planning and working to deadlines
  • Proven ability to engage with people from a variety of backgrounds, in particular those children, young people and families that are hard to reach
