Leicestershire County Council is looking to recruit four full time equivalent recycling operatives at its Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS). Successful candidates are likely to be polite, self-motivated, hard-working, willing to learn and have good customer care skills.
Successful candidates will be responsible for assisting residents with recycling their materials or disposing of their waste in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective manner; delivering a high quality service.
Various work locations are available along with working patterns of full time 5 days per week including weekends (two days off midweek) or weekend only. Site choice preference forms will be sent out to all candidates selected for an interview.
The base/work locations will be 3 of the following:
  • The ability to converse with ease with customers and provide advice and information in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
  • Understanding of waste Health & Safety Legislation
  • Good communication skills and the ability to handle awkward customers in a polite and professional manner
  • A willingness to be flexible, learn and undertake a variety of different tasks
  • An understanding of commitment to Equal Opportunities
