 An exciting opportunity to join the Safe and Sustainable Travel Team to assist with the delivery of integrated strategies that promote the safe and sustainable use of the transport network throughout Leicestershire. 
  
This role involves supporting the work of the team through installing and maintaining roadside public transport information and inspecting, and maintaining bus stop infrastructure. 
 
The successful post holder will be provided with a vehicle to undertake the duties of this post and will be required to conduct daily checks and inspections to ensure it is kept in a roadworthy condition.   The postholder will need to comply with all Health and Safety legislation, safe systems of work, risk assessments, Traffic Management requirements to ensure personal safety and that of the general public and colleagues.
    
MAIN DUTIES:

• Install and display roadside public transport information - Install new flags, cases and town boards to poles and lamp columns and insert displays as relevant and replace/repair existing facilities such as perspex front sheets and information displays.
• To audit and inspect bus stops facilities including bus stop flags, shelters, hard standing and timetable cases and input and update information gathered into databases and spreadsheets.
• Assist with the collection, manipulation and analysis of bus service data as required including on-bus passenger surveys.
   

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Hold a valid full driving licence.
• Planning and prioritising own workload.
• Need to be physically able to meet requirements in respect of mobility e.g. fixing timetable cases and flags to poles; lifting fairly heavy equipment such as display cases. Manual dexterity is needed to operate power and manual tools.
• Good interpersonal skills including calm liaison with the public.
• Use of Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent packages sufficient to input and organise data.
