The starting salary is £18,426 (Level One) rising to £18,795 (Level Two) on the first-year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

Nottingham City Council's Public Realm service is a 7 day service working across the whole city with flexible working across morning, evening and weekend shifts.           
The service is now looking for Public Realm Operatives (Level 2) to initially work in a newly created city-wide team, working 12:00 - 20:00 Monday-Friday with occasional weekend support to meet business need, such as events across the city. However, you will be required to cover other shifts to enable the service to be flexible with a range of shifts between the hours of 04:00 and 24:00.         
As part of this rapid response team you will be dedicated to improving the cleanliness and look of the streets and green spaces of Nottingham, helping Nottingham City Council continue to be England's Cleanest Big City by creating a clean, green and attractive City for residents and visitors. As a rapid response team no 2 shifts will be the same as you flexibly prioritise work demands to meet the high expectations of the city Council and its residents. A truly unique opportunity to be part of a new team that will build on the already excellent service provided by this multi-skilled service.      
• An understanding of Health and Safety and the ability to comply with City Council's requirements
• Knowledge of the safe operation of a range of hand and powered tools
• Knowledge of road safety and the impact of working in traffic environment
• Knowledge of general gardening techniques including grass and border maintenance
• Ability to work as part of a flexible team, using own initiative and with minimal supervision
• Must be in possession of a current and appropriate driving licence as requested
