ESPO is seeking a talented individual to help deliver a comprehensive and vibrant catalogue selection for the public sector, particularly within the education market, and is inviting applications from candidates interested in joining us.

Our customers might be children in classrooms, vulnerable people who need looking after or citizens just like you who regularly access services from their local authority. On a daily basis our teams make sure that schools, councils, emergency services and other public sector customers can spend their budgets to get the best value products and services they need.
 
From cleaning to curriculum products, stationery to site management requirements, art and design materials to audio visual equipment, ESPO’s Product Managers source a diverse spectrum of products and help produce a yearly catalogue with an annual turnover exceeding £60 million.
 
About you:
You will:
  • Be a key part of the Catalogue team with responsibility for the day to day management and promotion of a wide portfolio of varied products.

  • Use knowledge and commercial experience to undertake sourcing activities, including but not limited to supply market and customer needs analysis.

  • Be totally customer focused, engaging with customers and suppliers to ensure products/services meet customer needs and offer best value for money.

  • Have the ability to recognise, maintain and strive to increase turnover through catalogue and web based promotions amongst other marketing media.

  • Work with the Procurement team to write and update appropriate contract specifications and evaluate bids.

  • Be enthusiastic, professional and passionate about wanting to obtain the best value products for our customers.

  • Have good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills combined with a commercial focus enabling you to deal with customers and suppliers alike.

  • Have good attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills giving you the ability to analyse trends and interpret market data.

  • Experience of Site Management, PPE and Health and Safety categories would be desirable but not essential.

Essential requirements:
  • Experience of product management with a proven track record of responsibility for a portfolio of varied products.

  • Commercially minded and a flexible team player with the ability to prioritise your own workload and use plenty of initiative.

  • Good communicator who enjoys working with customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders.

  • Degree or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience.
