Salary Range: Commencing at £27,387 and rising to a possible £31,377  
              
ESPO are seeking to appoint two Procurement Officers to join their Energy & Corporate Solutions procurement teams.
    
The Energy team are responsible for a portfolio covering Gas, Electricity, Liquid Fuels and other energy related services. This role will particularly focus on the Energy sector, so some previous experience is desirable, but not essential.  
     
The Corporate Solutions team portfolio consists of HR areas such as recruitment, training and staff well being, as well as also other profesional services including consultancy, language services and travel. Again experience in one of these areas would be desirable but not essential. 
     
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of procurement projects within their designated market/category area, or supporting senior colleagues on more complex, high risk or value projects.  Managing a range of suppliers and applying a professional procurement approach to the delivery of good public sector procurement solutions for customers, contributing to the achievement of short term business and financial objectives and outcomes.  
             
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply or commitment to work towards achieving.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Experience of working in a procurement environment in a medium/large and/or complex organisation.
  • Proven track record in contributing to, conducting and/or managing procurement processes, playing a key role to ensure the process best meets objectives whilst seeking innovation, making savings and delivering value for money.
  • Takes responsibility for organising own work, in order to achieve objectives in order of priority, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills ensuring attention to detail, sufficient to make assessments and evaluations of customers needs and supplier to contribute to the evaluation of customers' needs and suppliers' offers.
