The Board of Governors of Ibstock Community College are seeking to appoint a knowledgeable and committed leader to be Principal of this successful 11-14 academy.  Building on our college motto that ‘respect and pride brings success’, we are looking for somebody who can lead the college through the next stage of its development.
Ibstock Community College is a standalone academy with 540 students on roll in years 7 to 9.  We are a college at the heart of the local community, serving families in Ibstock and the surrounding villages of North-West Leicestershire.
The role of Principal represents a real opportunity for a serving headteacher, or an experienced senior leader looking for their first headship, to genuinely shape the future strategic direction of the college, together with the Governing Board, with four overarching priorities:
  • Moving towards age range change to become an 11-16 academy, enabling us to serve our students and parents for the whole of their G.C.S.E secondary education
  • Deepening the meaning of our motto that ‘respect and pride brings success’ by strengthening a culture in which students and parents are committed to the value of education
  • Bringing to reality our vision for a broad, knowledge-rich curriculum that ensures our students not only achieve excellent qualifications but also become thoughtful, educated and well-rounded young adults
  • Confidently managing academy finances in line with DfE requirements.
If you are excited by the information in the candidate pack and have the professional knowledge, skills and commitment to lead a thriving academic community, we would be delighted to hear from you.
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.

Interview dates:  Tuesday 31 March and Wednesday 1 April 2020
