Salary Range £24,801-£34,653 (Career Grade) - Two Positions Available
 
A varied and interesting role has arisen, based in Leicestershire County Council's planning service. The post holder will assist with carrying out all statutory planning duties, processing planning applications, site monitoring and enforcement, and assisting with the preparation of the minerals and waste local plan.
 
The post holder will be involved in a wide range of sites and be given the opportunity to use their skill and judgement to negotiate with stakeholders to find solutions to problems.
 
These two positions offer excellent prospects for career development.
 
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
We are seeking applications from candidates who have a degree or higher education qualification in a planning or related discipline, with a good understanding of the planning process. They should have an interest in developing a planning career and in county planning matters.
 
Applicants should have:
  • Knowledge of the planning process and be able to make planning judgements
  • Computer literacy and ability to use a range of computer software packages
  • Good communications, literacy, numeracy and analytical skills
  • Good negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Skills in problem solving and ability use own initiative
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Imagination and ability to be organised, objective and patient
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
