The starting salary is £25,295 (Level One) rising to £26,999 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

This exciting new role of Engineer within the Parking Services team will provide an effective and efficient repairs and maintenance service across all the city council and its external contracts of parking buildings, premises stock and equipment operated both on and off street.
   
The post holder will work closely with the parking manager to provide and maintain a mobile repairs and maintenance service from a central location, responding to the needs at multiple locations to ensure ongoing continuity of service.
   
Essential Criteria: 
  • To undertake a key role in supporting the operational management of Parking Services colleagues, ensuring that the team delivers all repairs/maintenance either adhoc or through a planned maintenance programme.
  • To take a leading part on all reactive repair/maintenance works, liaising with citizens, colleagues and partners to ensure works are delivered in a coordinated manner minimising the impact of the activity and disruption to affected parties and the parking network.
  • To provide technical support within the service to ensure parking operations smooth running and operation.
  • Support the team manager, provide assistance in service reviews to maintain optimum performance against set standards to improve service delivery, contributing to streamlining processes to identify and deliver repair/maintenance works more efficiently.
  • To ensure Health & Safety management policies and arrangements, business continuity plans and risk registers are fully developed and implemented associated with repairs/maintenance schemes.
