Leicestershire County Council has developed a new four-year People Strategy to be launched in 2021. The Strategy is our most ambitious yet and we are looking for new members of our People Services Strategy and Organisational Development team to support the delivery of our vision to be a “values led organisation that people are proud to work for.” The key themes of the Strategy are performance management, leadership and workplace and culture. Our focus is to build back stronger and develop new ways of working whilst ensuring the wellbeing of our employees.
The roles supporting the People Strategy require enthusiastic individuals who will actively contribute to the successful delivery of the strategy within our professional, dedicated and friendly team.
Organisational Development Advisers Fixed term until 31st March 2023 (2 posts)
Salary: Grade 11 (£32,979-£35,607)
This is an superb opportunity for an individual who has experience of and an aptitude for organisational development to join our OD team.
Your role will be to plan, develop and deliver Organisational Development interventions for the Council, supporting People Strategy projects to drive high levels of employee engagement, create new ways of working, enabling a culture that drives performance and embraces change. Working in partnership with HR and OD Business Partners, senior leadership teams, managers and staff to fully understand the key business drivers and needs of current and future workforce challenges at an organisational and local level. The projects will be driven by the People Strategy or may be business led.
The ideal candidate:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to present to a range of audiences.
  • Experience of delivering effective organisational development solutions.
  • The ability to influence and persuade and to challenge appropriately.
  • Commercial awareness, developing practical and cost effective solutions
  • Knowledge of OD best practice and theory and its practical application particularly in the context of transformation, workforce development and performance improvement
  • Relevant degree or professional / management qualification or equivalent operational experience.
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload where there are conflicting priorities and deadlines to be met.
