Salary:Grades 9-11 £24,801 to £34,653 - Pro-Rata

To provide high quality occupational therapy services to disabled children and their carers in accordance with Departmental priorities, policies and procedures.
  • Dip COT/Degree of Occupational Therapy
  • Health and Care Professions Council registered 

  • Experience of working with disabled children either in paid work, voluntary sector or in training

  • Experience of working with other agencies

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation

  • Knowledge of moving and handling risk assessment and legislation

  • Knowledge of the Assessment Framework

  • Understanding of anti-discriminatory practice

  • Understanding of Data Protection Act

  • Experience of maintaining confidential records and report writing
  • Ability to complete needs led assessments

  • Ability to develop and implement care plans

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise work and complete work to strict guidelines

  • Ability to visit various location throughout the County

  • Able to work outside 'normal' office hours when required

  • Good attendance record 

  • Ability to demonstrate

    (a) service user empowerment

    (b) provision of equality services

    (c) the principles of the Leicestershire County Council Equality Opportunities Policy and Race Equality policy

    (d) anti-discriminatory practice

    (e) the aim and objectives of the Children and Family Service

    (f) detailed record keeping of discussions, decisions and assessments

    (g) use of information technology applications e.g. Microsoft Word, Outlook and database applications

    (h) effective team work

    (i) understanding and implementation of legislative and departmental/procedural requirements
