0.5 WTE fixed term post until end August 2020 (South Wigston, Leicester)
 
Salary Range: Grade 9-11 £24,801 - £34,653
  
An opportunity for experienced Occupational Therapists to join the Reablement OT East Team:
 
Main duties: 
  • Assess, recommend and support the provision of equipment (standard stock and specialised) and non-complex adaptations for Adult Service Users with multiple and varied needs of all levels of complexity
  • Provide professional guidance and support (but not line management) to support workers 
  • To work with social care and HART colleagues to provide goal setting and enablement advice and support to reduce, delay, meet or prevent the need for packages of care using OT skills such as single-handed care, equipment or alternative techniques to promote optimum independence in their own environment.
  
These posts are based in Market Harborough and South Wigston areas, but the successful candidates will also provide support/cover to other localities as and when required to meet demand.
  
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy approved by the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) or equivalent Occupational Therapy Qualification approved by HCPC. 
  • Skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the Occupational Therapy role within adult social care, including: Major and minor adaptations, equipment, enablement, moving and handling. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of mental capacity and their link to social care equipment provision and safeguarding. 
  • The ability to work with carers, colleagues and partnership agencies to deliver the most effective service. 
  • Ability to manage a caseload and to set clear objectives and plans. 
  • Experience of supporting and mentoring less experienced members of staff.
