Leicestershire Registration Service provides a high quality, customer focussed statutory service to record life's events in the County of Leicestershire.  We are looking for up to four postholders to fulfil the role of Marriage and Civil Partnership Officer at various locations around the county including Glenfield, South Wigston/Harborough and Hinckley/Coalville areas.
You will be responsible for registering  marriages and civil partnerships as well as conducting the associated ceremonies at our registration service points or any of our 60+ approved venues. This is a unique chance to be part of a couple's celebrations.
The post carries statutory responsibilities and is especially busy between April and September. We are particularly looking for postholders who are flexible and available during the week as well as at weekends (sometimes at short notice)
  • Experience in a responsible, public facing role
  • Experience in working in an environment where a strong commitment to customer care is required
  • Able to converse and communicate with customers and read behaviour
  • Experience of working with policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Confidence in dealing with stressful situations and able to take control of groups of people
  • Able to carry out duties without close supervision
  • Able to travel to service points and venues within Leicestershire, ie have access to a vehicle
  • Flexible and willing to work outside of normal hours
  • Able to satisfy the statutory disqualifications criteria listed in the person specification
