JOB PURPOSE
  • Coordination and completion of life story work for children with a care plan of adoption
  • Coordination of information sharing meetings to provide information about the child to the prospective adopters
  • Completing direct work with children to prepare them for their move to their adoptive home
    
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrable experience of working directly with children and young people
  • Experience of using signs of safety
  • Experience of trauma inform practice
  • Service evaluation and review experience
  • Experience of analysing information
  • Experience of producing life story work
  • Experience of positively engaging a range of professionals and adults in a meeting
  • Experience of chairing a meeting, analysing information and producing minutes
  • Ability to work on own initiative to guide and support the work of colleagues and to work as part of an effective network around a child
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think and act independently
  • Ability to grasp new concepts/absorb and analyse large amounts of information and produce succinct reports
  • Ability to manage time and priorities work in an effective and productive way
  • Able to use to MS Office products (word/Excel/Outlook)
  • To have knowledge of the adoption process
  • Knowledge of life story work and the process to produce life story work
  • An understanding of and commitment to Equal opportunities and the ability to apply this to all situations
  • Ability to build effective working relationships which generate confidence and collaborative working (E) (A/L)
  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment to customer care, in particular providing an effective high quality service to both internal and external customers
