Fixed Term for two years
       
This role has two main aims:
      
To act as a Practice Mentor Assessor (PMA) for Assessed and Support Year in Employment (ASYE) candidates in Adult Social Care, including:
     
- supporting individuals with associated work as required, including handling difficult conversations and carrying out both formal and informal coaching approaches and liaison with operational managers regarding candidate, and
    
- support the development of high quality social work in ASYE candidates, through observation, progress reports, reflective supervision and case discussions.
      
It will also:
      
Develop and implement a project plan that will support the future success of the ASYE programme in Adult Social Care, including leading working groups across L&D and ASC, through liaising effectively with departmental colleagues to identify areas for development regarding the ASYE programme, and develop and deliver programmes to support this development.
       
The post holder will also maintain relevant social care skills and knowledge and keep up-to-date with changes in legislation, case law and best practice and use to inform effective, high quality learning and organisation development activities.
      
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: 
     
Qualifications 
  • Social Work qualification and Social Work England registered
  • Practice Education Stage 2 Award
 
Experience 
  • Experience of having successfully supported the development of social workers both formally and informally
  • Evidence of having led successful development projects with a variety of partners
  • Proven ability to deliver a wide range of projects/tasks on time and within budget
  • Writing and presenting reports and analysis on various topics, such as learning and development and operational/service subjects
  • Evidence of having modelled professionalism through practice skill, personal presentation and behaviour
  • Experience of having monitored the compliance of participants with the requirements of a programme (such as ASYE), the policies and procedures of the local authority, and statutory and regulatory requirements and guidance.
 
Knowledge    
  • BASW Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) and Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF)
  • Social Work England regulations and requirements
