This vacancy is an opportunity to join the Leicestershire Adult Learning Service as a Lead Tutor specifically within the Learning for Independence curriculum which caters for adults with a range of learning disabilities.
The duties of the role include mentoring and coaching of teaching staff, supporting the delivery of a high quality programme through robust quality assurance activities and maintaining excellent professional practice through continual professional development. This role does not include any line management responsibilities. The role also includes teaching duties encompassing planning, preparation and delivery of learning sessions.
Courses delivered as part of the Learning for Independence curriculum cover a wide range of subjects and the successful candidate(s) will be able to confidently deliver and adapt their teaching and learning styles to meet the needs of all learners. All courses follow the principles of RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement), every learner has an individual learning plan and the accredited courses we deliver are accredited by AIM Awards. Class sizes are between 8-12 learners and each group benefits from a dedicated Learning Support Assistant. The successful candidate(s) will be working with diverse groups of learners in a vibrant and engaging learning environment with colleagues who are passionate about providing high quality learning opportunities for this cohort of learners.
The successful candidate(s) will be assigned a work base in the County at one of our venues but will be required to travel to various other learning venues around Leicestershire on a regular basis.
The working pattern for this role entails the advertised hours being worked predominantly during term time.
The role is offered as a single post covering the whole County of Leicestershire but job shares will be considered with the role being split by geographical area (North/South/East/West of the County).
