The lead Commissioner role  is a pivotal leadership role in improving the real life experiences of disabled in Leicestershire. To achieve this you will be expected to build strong partnerships with disabled people, their families, providers and other key stakeholders and be able to influence the working age adults agenda  with senior stakeholders across both the local authority and health.
 
A key objective for the successful post holder will be to have a particular emphasis on developing joint commissioning for people with learning disabilities and/ or autism therefore  experience of strategic commissioning, managing change and partnership working is essential.
 
You will be viewed as an expert in understanding the key issues and policy agenda relating to working age adults in particular transforming care and will be encouraged to work creatively,  and drive future strategy.      
 
The role is part of the Strategic Commissioning Management Team and you will be responsible for a small team.

We are looking for a self-motivated, talented and creative individual to work with our senior management team and key partners to develop our commissioning strategies and approaches to supporting disabled people of working age, with a particular emphasis on developing joint commissioning for people with learning disabilities and autism.
   The successful candidate will have significant experience at a senior level in health or social care alongside:
  
- An excellent understanding of strategic commissioning, the key issues and policy agenda relating to disabled adults of working age in particular people with learning disabilities and autism
-Excellent commissioning, communication and analytical skills
- The ability to develop productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver  positive change
