The starting salary is £17,364 (Level One) rising to £17,460 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time hours)
 
Shifts will be worked Monday to Friday in the morning or over lunchtime. The post will be primarily based at The Willows Day Centre, but flexibility to cover other sites across the estate is required.

Job Purpose
Kitchen Assistants are primarily responsible for assisting cooks in providing high quality, culturally appropriate catering services to meet the needs of citizens. This will involve basic food preparation, washing up, cleaning and, where appropriate, packaging of food.
Kitchen Assistants are also expected to work with due regard for their own personal safety and that of others within the establishment, as well as working within the parameters of Food Hygiene Legislation.
 
Essential Requirements
  1. Basic knowledge of food preparation;
  2. Knowledge of relevant legislation (including COSHH);
  3. Understanding of food hygiene procedures;
  4. Able to support teams across Nottingham City Council Adult Provision sites, as and when required.
