Please Note: The working days/evenings for this post are Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
To work with young people on the streets who are causing concern for local residents in order to identify their needs and issues and provide support in order to prevent them becoming involved in offending behaviour of ASB. The nature of this post involves working evenings and weekends.
  • Recognised qualification or equivalent qualification, can demonstrate substantial experience First Aid Certificate
  • Or demonstrable experience identified within the section below
  • Experience of street-based youth work
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to build relationships with young people and others
  • Awareness of issues affecting young people
  • Knowledge of effectiveness of sports diversionary projects
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to priorities own work and the work of others
  • Able to plan a programme of diversion activities with young people
  • Ability to engage with young people on the streets
  • Ability to liaise with a range of partner agencies
  • An understanding and commitment to Equal opportunities and the ability to apply this to all situations
  • Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
  • Possession of a valid driving license and access to a vehicle, however a reasonable adjustment will be considered for an applicant with a disability
  • Ability to travel to and access a range of buildings including family homes
  • Required to work outside usual office working hours, including evening and weekends
  • The post-holder must be willing to undertake further training within early help professional development framework
