JOB PURPOSE
To co-ordinate the IMPACT Project across an area of Leicestershire in partnership with the Police, Districts/Borough’s and Youth Service with the aim of engaging with young people and reduce youth related Anti-Social Behaviour.  
   
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education to NVQ level 4
  • Evidence of training or of further study that enhances the applicant's understanding of youth offending, social exclusion, anti social behaviour Or Demonstrable experience identified within the section below.
  •  Substantial experience of working with children, young people and families in either case or group work situations
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency setting
  • Experience of engaging with, and working with, partners
  • Experience of working with young people or young adults in the statutory or voluntary sector Experience of supervising staff 
  • knowledge and understanding of youth work practice and principles 
  • Knowledge of youth justice and safeguarding legislation and the operation of the Youth Justice System
  • Knowledge of relevant behavioural change practice to bring about change in anti-social behaviour and offending behaviour
  • Understanding the nature of anti-social behaviour and how it impacts communities and young people 
  • Ability to work as part of a team and in a multi-agency context, including the ability to operate in a variety of different settings with both clients and professionals, including custody, community centres and home environments
  • Good oral communication skills, including presenting information to professional partners; good recording, administrative and report writing skills
  • Good organisational, planning skills and working to deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to prioritise own work and the work of others
  • IT skills to include the ability to use Microsoft packages and databases / case management systems
  • Ability to use street based work initiatives to engage with young people 
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, Equal Opportunities and the ability to apply this to all situations.
  • Must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment, where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Equality Act 2010
  • Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle. However, a reasonable adjustment will be considered for an applicant with a disability
  • Ability to travel to and access a range of buildings including family homes
  • Willingness and ability to work outside usual working office hours and to a 08.30h – 17.00h duty system and weekend work depending on operational needs including evenings, Saturdays, Bank Holidays and concessionary days as required.
  • The post-holder must be willing to undertake further training within the Youth Justice professional development framewo
