We are looking for someone to join our busy Panel Team within Adult Social Care, as a Health and Social Care Coordinator to work 18.5 hours per week.

The starting salary is £18,672 rising to £19,446 on first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time).

The Panel team is an essential part of Adult Social Care, and triages all requests for care packages. The small, close-working team are responsible for helping frontline workers in processing proposed care plans, and having these financially approved.

Team members are also responsible for maintaining and updating financial paperwork for individual citizens; to ensure that all payments made for care are accurate. Working closely with Social Worker colleagues, the Panel team also process amendments to Care Plans in response to changes in the citizen’s needs. The team also look after a number of specialised processes that help us keep our most vulnerable citizens safe, such as guardianship.

The Panel team is a small fast-paced team, with colleagues working closely together to ensure the process is smooth, accurate and speedy. We’d like to bolster the team with a new colleague who has excellent IT skills, an enthusiasm for learning new skills, and who is able to remain calm with tight deadlines.

The Panel team works closely with frontline workers, finance colleagues across Nottingham City Council, and external providers to ensure a smooth and accurate payment process for all citizens receiving a service.

Essential Requirements

  1. Ability to understand and deal with confidential and sensitive issues when liaising with both team members and other professionals;

  2. Ability to remain calm under pressure when managing conflict and challenging situations and the ability to work with constant interruptions, requiring skills in multi-tasking, whilst maintaining accuracy.

  3. Awareness of adult care services and relevant Health and Social Care legislation e.g. Care Act;

  4. Ability to use IT systems and contribute to the effective management of the team.
